Resting up after Christmas

Ahhhhhhh, so tired. It's a hard life, but someone's got to do it.

I finally found a speaker that fits my MPG player. $4.00 at Walgreens. Gotta love Walgreens. They didn't have my color red, but this works fine.
Couldn't find my backing anywhere. Looked, and looked, cut something that would work, and wala, it had fallen over the back of my cabinet, and was hiding. Don't you hate when that happens. This is the cabinet I had built for my convection oven, and I have been using it for everything else, till the oven comes in. It makes a wonderful work table in my kitchen. I have even sewed on it while doing all the holiday cooking.
Isn't this too cute for words. Patti designed these for The Smiles Project. You fill them with crayons so the kiddo's can tote them around. So easy.

Christmas fun

Here's some cute little zipper pulls, back pack jewelry I am making for the Smiles Project.
I love doing these, I am getting rid of 30 years of button collection. I had made a hundred of these. I will make a bunch more of these, I still have tons of buttons left.

These are little squeakers I got to make some doggie presents. I bought them from http://www.dogstuff4u.com/ It was a wonderful experience. They got here quick, and are just so fun. And they are for gifts to give away, not for my dogs. haha, yes I am so bad.

Here are Tiff's little ornaments. I love them. I need to make mine before I get the evil eye from her.

What's in a Christmas tag

My tree is decorated, I decided to go very simple this year. I used old timey big lights, loved it. Dani thinks it a little plain.

So, they all get to make ornaments with these, lets see what they come up with.

Thanksgiving, DONE on to Christmas

This is our Thanksgiving Table. The gourds and white pumpkin is from our little garden. It was so nice to have them on our table. We had a wonderful time. I worked till 5:30, so everyone pitched in, and heated up the meal I have premade. It was so nice. We do use all fabric on the table, one daughter is "green". So it's the least I can do, she especially approves of my vintage dishes.

Presents are wrapped, and placed around the tree with care. Ah, so nice to be almost done. Just working on handmade gifts now. And all 3 modern machines are at the shop, making weird noises. I finally got one back this afternoon. So happy about that. I have been doing straight stitches on one of my vintage machines. So happy to have that baby.

I love Christmas

Yes, I will decorate everywhere, including the dogs kennel. The top is my wonderful granite cutting board. They do have their own kennels, but sometimes they choose to share. I love this plain wreath, it is actually an outdoor wreath, but I have always used it as a candleholder.

Here's little birds with their Christmas birdhouses. These are going to the Smiles Project. We are having our Christmas put to put smiles on little ones faces.

Christmas lamp

It's really hard to get a good pic of this. I have always wanted to decorate an old hanging lamp, and I realized today this lamp would do. i originally intended to use pine garland and beads, but when I saw this brown garland, I decided that might go better with the wood on this vintage lamp, It is a wooden hanging lamp, with yellow blown glass globes. I bought it at Carehelp for $10. very happy with it.

My sister gave me this vintage fruit bowl years ago. It has lived in every bathroom I have owned.

More bathroom remodel

We kept the original cabinet, and did a glaze paint over it. This cabinet was all tiny little drawers that were really worthless. We cut out the stiles, and left it open for baskets that are so popular now. I love our light fixtures. Can you see the wooden finale on the cabinet. I just love them.

I love these mirrors. Can you see the tiny little tree?

Formal dining room remodel

Well here's the beginning of our new cabinets, there is 2 full size microwaves hiding in them. I love it. Yes, after some new wiring, I can run both at the same time. I love it, as people are fixing their plates they go in the dining room to heat it up, it helps with the traffic flow in the kitchen. The cabinets still need crown molding and wood finales. You can see the curtains I am working on, I haven't decided on a topper, and I don't like the way the middle tie came out. I wanted as much of the window to show as possible, so you can see the pool, but sheeze, still don't like it.
This is a cabinet we had custom made, I love it. Kevin keeps his collection of coffee cups in it, and out of my cabinets. It helps a lot.

Still can't get to my decorations, so I bought a table cloth from WalMart for our family dinner. The girls loved the colors. Don't you love the old chairs and table. Solid wood, I bought the whole set for $100. It really should have come with 2 more chairs. Its an 8 foot table with 6 chairs, but that's ok.

gotta get cracking

Who else is getting Christmas Presents ready. Gotta stay off this computer, and start stitching. Pics to follow.

This and that

Yike, I need a new ironing board cover. The little bath set was a gift from work. It's National Nutrition Worker week.

I have always loved this little desk. It's actually been in the family for a while.
My baby basket was a wonder garage sale item. It's about 50 years old, I took it off the wheels because its starting to lean. The dolls inside are from my childhood. Orangey Porgeny, and Murtle the Turtle, heye, they probably came already named.

My plant is finally getting pretty, then it will loose all sun soon. I am trying to figure out how to get a plant light set up for it. The pot was a birthay present, I hated to put it in the yard and a rock hit it, so it lives in my house.
Here's my little Madam Alexander dolls. I found one at the Garage Sale. It didn't have the little label on it, but it was 3 for 50 cents, so I had to have her.

Tupac's garden is doing good again, we finally figured out the pump had stopped working at top flow, so we fixed it, and the Great Lizard is happy again.
